This project proposes an innovation corridor centered along bus rapid transit on  Waldo Road in Gainesville, Florida. The corridor is anchored by a park redesign and surrounding redevelopment at Citizens' Field, a civic complex near the heart of the corridor.

Location in East Gainesville

The urban planning portion of this project proposes to redirect development into a series of street-centered "seams" that connect buildings. As redevelopment occurs, streets will be developed as intentional spaces. The focus of redesign is along the main Waldo Road corridor, which has been replanned into a boulevard. Development is also focused on "neighborhood corridors" that support the main corridor and reach out into surrounding neighborhoods.

The project also master-plans the civic facilities at Citizens Field, with the addition of several community-centered arts and educational facilities. An existing stadium on the site serves as one anchor for a civic green, and civic buildings surrounding the site split the space into sports fields and human-scaled courtyards. Development along the edge of the site allows these park facilities to bleed into the surrounding neighborhoods.
